What would people be surprised to learn about you? I went to preschool in New York City, kindergarten in Portugal, elementary school in Germany, middle school and some high school in England, and graduated from high school in Colorado Springs.

If you were a superhero, what powers would you have and why?
I would have the power to teleport, so then I could travel all over the world without having to pay airfare!

What is your favorite memory at CSS?
My favorite memory at CSS is going on a camping trip to Mesa Verde with my daughter's 5th-grade class. The camping was a wonderful adventure. As we toured ancient cave dwellings, I learned so much from the students about science, history, and engineering.

What is one thing you've learned from students?
Be a good listener.

What did you want to be growing up?
A doctor or a professional athlete

What is one thing you enjoy about CSS?
I enjoy being with the CSS community and cheering for the Kodiaks at sporting events.

What is your favorite spot in the world?
My favorite spot in the world is the stoop in front of my grandmother's house in Queens, NYC.

What would people be surprised to learn about you? I'm a first-generation immigrant from Belgium/Congo. French is my first language, and listening to American music helped me learn to speak English.

What did you want to be growing up? An Actor

What is one thing you enjoy about CSS and why?
I enjoy the community aspect and love how most families are involved and contribute to the school.

What is your favorite spot in the world? Morocco. It is a beautiful country that is spiritually rich.

Samir is a recording artist, creative thought leader, and accomplished speaker. As one-half of the musical group The Reminders, he has toured nationally and internationally. He also facilitates workshops and residencies in universities and for organizations across the country.
