Extended Care and Enrichment Programs offer after-school care in a safe, enriching environment beyond regular school hours.

The Extended Care program is a service offered that is intended to accommodate our families’ schedules. This is the published program for the 2025-2026 academic year. Students on campus (in PreK-8th grade) after 3:15 p.m. are required to be enrolled in a program.

We offer a variety of programs to accommodate each age group including: Young Explorers (PreK), Go West: Out of School Time (K-5th), and Go West: Middle School Out of School Time (6-8th grade, formally Learning Lodge). To ensure student safety, staff is certified in Standard Precautions/CPR/First Aid. Registration is required to participate.

Young Explorers (PreK)

After-School Care Program: Daily Monday - Friday 3:15 to 5:30 p.m. (ONLY for PreK students)

Young Explorers is an option for families that need extended care for their child(ren) after school. Due to limited availability, registration is required with a minimum of 1 session per week and a 24-hour cancellation policy. Young Explorers is not available on early release days. Snacks will not be provided, please pack an extra one for your child if they would like an after-school snack. The program is staffed by CSS employees who are all Standard Precautions, CPR, and First Aid trained and certified. PreK students attending this program are required to have a Colorado state-licensed teacher in the classroom. The teacher must also follow the state rules and regulations and complete a background check/ fingerprinting. Sessions will be billed automatically to your FACTS account.

Registration:

We have a limited number of spots available and pre-registration is required to attend. You will be charged for your child’s attendance if you do not cancel your reservation within 24 hours.

Go West Camps: Out of School Time (K-5)

Go West Camps partners with The Colorado Springs School to provide quality after-school programming for K-5th graders. Inspired Learning by CHE provides financial support for these programs for those who apply (see below).

Go West Camps is offering creative and nature-based programs for children enrolled in Kindergarten through 5th grade at The Colorado Springs School called Out of School Time (OST). Activities are designed to be progressive and serve as the foundation of positive peer relationships and opportunities to build self-esteem. The after school programs provide opportunities for skill building and lasting friendships. Learn more at Go West

HOURS OF OPERATION

Go West OST operates from the Maytag Building from 3:15 - 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday during the school year (August 14, 2025 to May 18, 2026)

Go West Camps: Out of School Time (6-8):

MIDDLE SCHOOL OST (Grades 6th- 8th)
We are thrilled to expand our partnership with Go West, who will be providing a space for middle school students after school (August 14, 2025 to May 19, 2026). Students will have dedicated time and guidance to complete their homework in a supportive environment, followed by opportunities to unwind and connect with friends through engaging activities, games, and creative projects.

Registration is required to attend through Go West and parents and guardians are required to sign out at pickup no later than 5:30 p.m.
