A Message from Associate Head of School for Academics

Welcome to the academic journey at The Colorado Springs School—a journey that begins with wonder, grows through discovery, and leads students toward purposeful lives beyond our campus.

From the earliest years through graduation, CSS meets students where they are and encourages them to take their next steps with curiosity, confidence, and courage. Our Early Childhood program invites our youngest learners to explore through play, nature, and meaningful relationships as they build foundational skills and develop a love of learning. In Lower School, those foundations take root through hands-on academics, character development, and opportunities that help students grow in confidence, independence, and compassion.

As students enter Middle School, they are encouraged to embrace new challenges, ask big questions, and discover the interests that help shape who they are becoming. Through experiential education and a supportive community, students build resilience, deepen their understanding, and gain confidence in their ability to navigate the world around them.

In Upper School, students bring together everything they have learned and begin putting it into action. A rigorous and dynamic curriculum prepares them for college, career, and life beyond CSS while encouraging them to think critically, lead confidently, and pursue their passions with purpose.

At every stage, our dedicated teachers know and value each student as an individual. They create engaging learning experiences, nurture meaningful relationships, and partner with families to support each child’s growth.
