Early Childhood Experiential Education

EARLY CHILDHOOD (PreKindergarten: Ages 3-5)

Fall Adventure

Each autumn, Fall Adventure serves as an age-appropriate introduction to CSS’s signature experiential education program. With a focus on community building and campus exploration, PreK students venture across the 28-acre campus to visit landmarks such as the Trianon and the Upper School STEM lab. Highlights often include interactive experiences—like puppet shows from the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. Field experiences invite children to ask thoughtful, relevant questions and connect their learning to the world around them.

Colorado Expedition (COEX)

In the spring, PreK students participate in Colorado Expedition (COEX), extending their learning beyond the classroom and into the surrounding community—while remaining on campus. As “curious explorers,” children meet local professionals, observe nature firsthand, and begin to discover their place in the broader world. COEX nurtures a love of discovery and helps students understand how they fit into the community, laying the foundation for the more extensive expeditions they will encounter in the years ahead.
