““My connection to The Colorado Springs School began in 1997, when my family moved to Colorado Springs and I enrolled my two children at CSS. I was immediately drawn to CSS’s mission, engaging curriculum, and commitment to experiential education. I hoped to work here one day, but there were no openings at the time. After 20 years and a variety of experiences in teaching, I found my way back to CSS. I excitedly applied and was hired the next day! I began my wonderful journey as a PreK teacher. What keeps me here is the freedom to follow children’s natural curiosity, create meaningful learning experiences, and make the most of our exceptional campus. Early Childhood Program (PreKindergarten: Ages 3-5)
At The Colorado Springs School, PreK students are inspired to wonder, create, and discover through a joyful, hands-on learning experience. Drawing from Montessori, Waldorf, and Reggio Emilia principles, our program nurtures independence, curiosity, creativity, and connection through engaging classroom exploration, STEM inquiry, the arts, storytelling, outdoor learning, and imaginative play. In a supportive mixed-age community, children build confidence, practice collaboration, and develop the foundational skills they need to thrive in Kindergarten and beyond.
