Clubs & Activities

The Colorado Springs School promotes a healthy balance between academics and extra-curricular clubs and activities to prepare students for a dynamic world. Here are a list of clubs that have been offered (subject to change vary by year).

LOWER SCHOOL

Girl Scouts
Girl Scout Troop #609 welcomes students in grades K-12 and meets on campus on a rotating schedule that brings together students across multiple age groups – from Daisies and Brownies to Juniors, Cadettes, and Seniors. Troop 609 focuses on Engineering and STEM, and offers students opportunities to experience the traditional badge work, community service, and outdoor adventures for which the Girl Scouts is known. Students also sell cookies and dedicate some proceeds to enhancing the playground and gardens at CSS.

Soccer
Soccer Buddies is offered in the fall and spring on the Quad at CSS for students in PreK through Grade 5 and provides an innovative and ground-breaking youth soccer program where everyone plays all the time! Register here for the fall 2025 season.

Landsharks Running Club (K-5th)
In partnership with the Landsharks Running Club, CSS offers this youth program biannually to introduce running to young athletes in a safe and fun environment. Each season, practices are scheduled twice weekly after school, and races are held on the weekends. Register here for the fall 2025 season.

Revue
The school’s annual talent and variety show that allows students to take to the stage in a choreographed group number in front of family and friends. Rehearsals are held during recess.

Sunshine State Young Readers Award
At CSS, we aim to foster a love of literature by encouraging students to read challenging, quality books written by various authors across multiple genres. The Sunshine State Young Readers Award (SSYRA) Program is a motivational program for students in Grades 3 through 5. It encourages them to read independently for pleasure and read books on, above, and below their reading level to improve their reading fluency. Sunshine State books are selected for their broad appeal, literary value, varied genres, curriculum connections, and multicultural representation.

Student Council
Established in 2023, the Lower School Student Council (STUCO) comprises members in Grades 2 through 5. Together, students plan and manage bi-weekly morning announcements, spirit weeks, and more.

MIDDLE SCHOOL (6-8)

Matchwits
Matchwits (Middle & Upper School) challenges students to demonstrate knowledge across a variety of subjects. Competing in a quiz show atmosphere against regional schools. Students are challenged to answer questions pertaining to history, biology, math, geography, literature, astronomy, geology, and more.
