During the 2022-2023 academic year, The Colorado Springs School (CSS) proudly celebrated 60 years of friendship, hands-on learning, and growth. This webpage was designed to reflect on and acknowledge the history and people who have led the school to success over the past six decades and to prepare for a future that will allow CSS to remain one of the most respected PreKindergarten through Grade 12 independent day schools in Colorado.
The following albums were provided by alumni or taken from the CSS yearbook, Et Apres, through the decades. The CSS yearbooks' name "Apres" is based on the names of the school's first four graduates:
An 'S' was later added to make the French word "Apres," which can mean either after, afterward, or behind.
To celebrate 60 years of The Colorado Springs School, we set out to tell a story that spans generations — one alum at a time. From the pioneering spirit of the school’s earliest graduates to the resilience and ambition of its newest, each decade reveals a distinct moment in CSS history, shaped by the people who lived it.
