About
Founded in 1962, The Colorado Springs School (CSS) is an independent day school serving students in PreKindergarten through Grade 12. Located on a 28-acre campus at the base of the Rocky Mountains, CSS is home to more than 200 students and is recognized as a leading independent school in the Pikes Peak region. Through its distinctive Signature Programs and experiential approach to learning, CSS balances innovation with tradition while supporting each student’s academic, social, emotional, and physical growth. Students engage in rigorous academics, hands-on projects, real-world connections, and meaningful mentorship that build independence, leadership, problem-solving skills, ingenuity, and integrity. Faculty bring learning to life both inside and outside the classroom, serving as teachers, advisors, club and class sponsors, and Seminar leaders in an active, student-centered community. The campus includes eight buildings, some of which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
