The Colorado Springs School seeks a Long-Term Substitute Teacher for Upper School Math. The substitute teacher will play a vital role in supporting our Upper School students academically, socially, and emotionally. Candidates who meet the requirements will be utilized through TAGG, The Administrative Group for Guest teachers, which provides placement and support for substitute teachers. The time range for this position will be from approximately November 2025 - January 2026.
Roles and Responsibilities
Provide instruction for Upper School students in: Algebra, Algebra II and Trig and AP Calculus AB.
Community effectively with students and families.
Design and administer in class assessments and provide grades.
Work collaboratively with colleagues in the math department.
Have an interest in Outdoor and Experiential Education.
Create a secure, positive classroom environment that encourages respect, kindness, and effective collaboration among students.
Flexibly adapt lesson plans, materials, and schedules to maintain continuity of learning.
Provide supervision during recess, lunch, and other non-academic times.
Adhere to the school’s policies, practices, and expectations as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
Qualifications and Preferred Skills
A bachelor’s degree in mathematics or mathematics education or a closely related field is required.
Prior teaching or substitute teaching experience preferred, ideally at the Upper School level.
Strong communication skills, flexibility, creativity, and an innovative mindset.
Comfortable integrating project-based learning and technology into instruction.
Additional Information
This long-term substitute position for Upper School Math will be filled through the school’s partnership with TAGG, and all eligible candidates will need to complete the TAGG registration process prior to a formal interview and hiring process.
Pay range for long-term qualified subs is $135 - $155 per day
