CSS Email Instructions for Transitioning to Microsoft
New Login Required After July 21, 2025, for Students Entering Grades 4-12, Faculty & Staff
The Colorado Springs School is transitioning to a hybrid system using both Google and Microsoft 365 services.
The most noticeable change is that email will now be accessed through Microsoft Outlook, using the new login instructions provided below. These will be required starting July 21, 2025, after 9 p.m. for students entering Grades 4–12, as well as faculty and staff. (Please note that CSS email accounts will be unavailable from about 3:30 to 9 p.m. on July 21 during the transition.)
Rest assured, all existing data will remain intact:

Email, contacts, calendars, and OneDrive files will now be accessible through Microsoft 365

Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and other Google services will remain available as before, excluding Calendar and Gmail. Past emails in Gmail will remain visible, but new emails can no longer be received or sent from there.
When signing into a Google service, you’ll be redirected to a Microsoft sign-in page—this is expected behavior. Once authenticated, you'll be redirected back to Google and can continue using the service as normal.
As part of this transition, you may receive one or more welcome emails from Microsoft. These are legitimate, and no action is required at this time.

Email Login Instructions for Students Entering Grades 4-12
Effective after 9 p.m. on July 21, 2025, students will need to follow the steps below:
1. Navigate to https://outlook.office365.com/mail/
2. Enter your CSS email address, then click Next.
3. Your password will be “Welcome######” where the #s are replaced by the 6 digits of your birthday.
Example:
Username: userexample@css.org
Password: Welcome010100 (Birthday: January 1, 2000)
4. Once you are signed in, we suggest creating a new password that is secure and unique to you.
With parental or guardian permission, you may install the Microsoft Outlook app on your mobile device. Click here for mobile installation instructions.
