Emily Fuller brings her passion for experiential education, outdoor leadership, and service learning to her role as Director of Experiential Education at The Colorado Springs School. She has led students on field experiences in Hawaii, Utah, and Colorado, deepening her commitment to helping young people learn beyond the classroom.
Previously, she taught Middle School Science and Physical Education at CSS, where she also supported Student Council, ASL Club, and the annual community ski trip. She has coached Middle and Upper School lacrosse and basketball, blending her love of sports with her dedication to student growth.
During summers, she serves on the Leadership Team at Noah’s Ark Whitewater Rafting Co. in Buena Vista, CO. Since 2019, she has led backpacking, rock climbing, rappelling, and rafting trips; trained leaders; evaluated guides; and managed logistics. In addition to thousands of miles on the Arkansas River, she has guided expeditions on the Green, Salmon, Dead, Penobscot, Kennebec, and multiple sections of the Colorado River. Certified as a Wilderness First Responder and Swiftwater Rescue Instructor, she brings vital expertise to CSS’s experiential programs.
A graduate of Bowdoin College, Emily earned a degree in Earth and Oceanographic Science with a minor in Mathematics and completed coursework in environmental, social, and racial justice. A former Division III lacrosse player, she continues to draw on her athletic background in her work with students.
In her current role, she is expanding opportunities for PreK–12 students to engage in outdoor adventures, service learning, and discovery-based experiences. Her goal is to help students build meaningful connections with the environment, one another, and themselves—fostering growth, teamwork, and a lifelong love of learning.

I learned how to ride a bike at 18 years old.

A primatologist (aka Jane Goodall)
What draws you to working with students?
The infinite impact we can make on them and the endless potential of each student.
