M.Ed., Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education Endorsement, University of Oregon
Bronwyn Holman, a native of the Pacific Northwest, grew up in a family of educators on a small island near Seattle, Washington. Immersed in academic environments, she developed an early love for learning and discovery that continues to shape her career.
She holds an undergraduate degree in Music Therapy with a minor in Psychology, as well as a Master’s in Education. Her specialized training includes certifications in Early Childhood Education and Early Intervention, reflecting her commitment to supporting young learners and their developmental needs.
With more than three decades of experience, Bronwyn has built a distinguished career in early childhood education. She began as a Child Development Specialist at the University of Oregon, where she founded MiniMusician, a school integrating the Music Together curriculum with her background in music therapy and child development.
At the University of Michigan, she served as a music therapist in an Autism Intensive program, while also pursuing advanced training in the Montessori method. This work led her to administrative leadership at a Montessori preschool, where she combined therapeutic, developmental, and educational approaches to early learning.
In 2012, Bronwyn relocated to Colorado with her family and, in 2017, joined The Colorado Springs School. She now serves as Director of the Early Childhood Education Division, bringing enthusiasm, creativity, and deep expertise to her leadership role.
Bronwyn is passionate about designing learning environments that blend whimsy and beauty with discovery-based exploration. She values thoughtfully crafted indoor and outdoor classrooms that nurture curiosity and growth. Equally, she believes in providing educators with strong support, empowering them to bring their unique strengths and personalities into teaching.
Central to her philosophy is a profound respect for young learners and recognition of the pivotal PreK experience as the foundation of their educational journey.
What would people be surprised to learn about you? I grew up on an island outside Seattle. I am a trained instructor of Infant Massage and Early Childhood Music (using the Music Together Curriculum).
What is one thing you’ve learned from students? I love the honesty, openness, and curiosity of the young learner, and I learn from them every day how to be a better, more empathetic, and authentic human being.
If you were a superhero, what powers would you have? Flying, for sure, and helping people see the good in other people.
What did you want to be growing up? A veterinarian. I love animals!
What draws you to teaching? My love of kids!
What is your favorite spot in the world? I enjoy being on the water, perhaps because I grew up on an island. Pretty much anywhere I can sit and look out over water is where I want to be.
What is one thing you enjoy about CSS? The community! My children have been in all divisions at the school, and I love how the interactions between age groups encourage a strong community. I also appreciate that the size of our school makes it so that every child is known on campus, even by folks who are not their current teachers. It creates a sense of safety as children move through the grades.
The Colorado Springs School is an independent day school serving students from PreKindergarten through 12th grade.
