College Overview
College Overview is a course designed to guide students through the beginning of the college admission process.
This required course, taken during sophomore year, will engage students to:
- Think about the entire application process
- Consider what types of schools fit their academic and social interests
- Give them the opportunity to become experts in the field of college admissions
Each student is expected to:
- Develop a list of potential colleges
- Create a resume
- Write an essay
- Critically analyze college propaganda
- Develop a college plan
- Learn how to prepare for the college entrance exams
- Request a transcript
- Plan their path to graduation from CSS
- Learn how to pursue extracurriculars
- Research scholarship possibilities
Students are graded on the successful completion of all assignments, participation, attendance, and assessments.
