Standing for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity

June 06, 2020

Dear CSS Community,

The past few months have been challenging for all of us and we want to continue to show care. It is important that we continue messages of solidarity, love, and acceptance, during this time of upheaval.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “Let us realize the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.”

For nearly 60 years, The Colorado Springs School has prepared students to meet the challenges of a dynamic world with independent thinking and integrity. In keeping with these core values, our school and our community actively stand against racism and we share the grief and deep frustration unfolding in recent events as a response to people of color being killed.

Community is the most treasured CSS value and our community is committed to honoring diversity, promoting equity, and creating inclusive practices. We believe that education, devoid of bias and prejudice, is the most powerful force in the world for effecting change. Our work as a school has never been more important. Now more than ever, the world needs individuals who can think independently and empathize with their fellow human beings. The Colorado Springs School is committed to listening intently, learning deeply, and leading authentic conversations beyond today’s statement of solidarity.

Thank you for being part of our community.
