Re-Opening Plans for Fall

July 27, 2020

Preparing for a Safe Return to Campus Dear CSS Community,

COVID-19 has arrested the hearts and minds of our country like no other event and schools have been placed at the epicenter. We invite you to become more familiar with the details and specifics of our planning. The Re-Opening of Campus landing pages are informational and address many of the questions posed during the recent Town Hall meeting held on July 24.

CSS is unwavering in its dedication to following through with our commitment to our students and families to delivering our mission of strong academics, social-emotional support, and dynamic programs to all students and families whether on campus or at home. In turn, we expect all who make up the CSS community to embody the values of the community pledge, support our evolving efforts, and unite with us as we stand together on behalf of our students, teachers, and families.

At this point in time, we have decided to start the year with On-Campus Learning the week of August 17 and our landing pages outline how we aim to optimize a return to campus. Should executive orders preclude this plan, we are bolstering our e-Learning practices in order to make a quick pivot.

We recognize that the ultimate value of a CSS education is that every child is safe, known, and loved by the same CSS teachers that provide them an excellent education and support their vibrant growth. We respect that families may experience a range of reactions to the school’s plans and that wrestling with the uncertainty of the coming weeks is universal.

In order to accomplish our mission and provide service to students, it takes the strength and growth mindset of our community. We pledge social responsibility to each other to stand together to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We know that there are safety measures that must be in place in order to keep our community safe. We all play a vital role in health and safety. We will all adhere to the heightened standards to protect our school. Our top priority is safety to students, teachers, and families of our broader community.

Please take some time as a family to read through the Community Pledge, discuss it openly, and pledge your support to each other.

Pledge Your Support to the Community

As we prepare for the new year, it gives me immense pride to welcome new families into our dynamic learning community. We are a small school that can be agile in navigating a safe return to campus or a pivot to robust e-Learning and we are happy families continue to proudly choose us.

Please look for further communications as our plans will continue to take shape and evolve.

If you would like to discuss concerns or private family situations, please schedule an appointment with me at ttyler@css.org.
