Alumni Coordinator

Position Overview:

The Colorado Springs School (CSS), an independent day school serving students from preschool through grade 12, is seeking a dynamic and relationship-focused Alumni Coordinator to engage, support, and grow our alumni community. This position will play a vital role in strengthening connections between CSS and its alumni, and fostering engagement through events, communications, and volunteer opportunities. The Alumni Coordinator will also manage alumni data to support networking, fundraising, and school initiatives.

This role requires excellent communication, event planning, and database management skills, as well as a deep appreciation for independent school education and the CSS mission.

The position’s preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, education, nonprofit management, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in alumni relations, development, event planning, or a related role.
  • Desire to work in an environment that promotes the education and well-being of children.
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills with the ability to build relationships with alumni, students, faculty, and school leadership.
  • Experience with database management and CRM software, preferably in an educational or nonprofit setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in crafting alumni communications, newsletters, and social media content.
  • Ability to plan and execute events, including reunions, networking gatherings, and fundraising initiatives.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

The database administrator will:

  • Maintain and update alumni records in the school’s database, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Track alumni engagement, career updates, and philanthropic involvement.
  • Utilize data analytics to inform alumni outreach strategies.
  • Collaborate with the development and communications teams to create targeted engagement campaigns.
  • Support fundraising initiatives by identifying and cultivating alumni donors.
  • Maintain strict data confidentiality standards.
  • Prepare updates and attend all event planning meetings.
  • Provide logistical support for school events (e.g. annual gala, alumni events, donor events).
  • Perform all duties as assigned.

Salary:

This is a part-time, hourly position. Hourly wages are $17 - $22 per hour based on experience.
