Induction Ceremony Recognizes National Honor Society Members

Members of the CSS Ursa Major Chapter of the National Honor Society gathered on April 15, 2024, for its formal induction ceremony in the Louisa Performing Arts Center. There was much to celebrate and reflect upon as senior members prepared to be dismissed from their roles and responsibilities within the chapter and warmly welcomed next year's Chapter President, Norah O. ‘25, into office.

Members who were informally inducted this previous fall took part in the tradition of lighting their candles to formally honor their membership: Micah R., Jaiden S., Immy M., Kate F., and Norah O. Likewise, graduation honor cords were distributed to all of the senior members. Heartfelt speeches were shared focusing on the values of the NHS, accomplishments made by the chapter this year, and the bright future that lies ahead.

Four awards were presented that correspond to the four pillars of the National Honor Society. Isabelle Z. ‘24, this year’s NHS President, received the Character award; Adhista E. ‘24 received the Scholarship award; and Nathan S. ‘24 received the Leadership and Service Awards.

The induction ceremony was a great representation of the wonderful community the chapter has fostered throughout this year and a beautiful honor to all of the members who were welcomed as well as those who were preparing to be dismissed as they near the end of their membership. All in all, it was a lovely tribute to the dedication and hard work that the chapter was able to accomplish this year and all of the individuals who put in the effort to make it happen.
