A Kodiak Scholar excels in our core program and consistently demonstrates an ability to acquire, process, and demonstrate mastery of material at a more sophisticated level. Each course in a Kodiak Scholars program includes a variety of Kodiak Scholar Challenges. Students who qualify for Kodiak Scholar status will have this designation noted on Grade Report comments and is an additional level to the High Honor Roll. CSS asks parents to partner with the faculty to support the pursuit of Kodiak Scholar status for students who exhibit high achievement in the middle school academic program.
Kodiak Scholar status represents superior work in a class for a specific term. Kodiak Scholar status requires that a student acquires, processes, and demonstrates a mastery of content at a more sophisticated level, therefore it is not for everyone. In order to qualify for Kodiak Scholar, a student must:
- Maintain at least a 90% average in core program work
- Complete Kodiak Challenge opportunities provided in their courses.
