Middle/Upper School Math Teacher (start December 2023)

Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Teach up to five sections of middle and upper school math which could include the following classes: Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Advanced Statistics, and Functions, Statistics, and Trigonometry (FST).

  • Serve as an advisor for a group of 8-10 students, providing guidance in academic, extracurricular, social, and personal areas and serving as the school’s key liaison to parents.

  • Support a differentiated and globally integrated curriculum that includes student engagement through project-based learning, hands-on activities, experimentation and iteration, and other active approaches to learning.

  • Serve as a Middle School advisor.

  • Attend all Middle School meetings.

  • Support experiential education by leading Middle School Seminars.

  • Attend all faculty meetings, department meetings, and other meetings as required.

  • Complete grades/comments, advisor letters, and other forms of academic communication in a timely, professional manner.

  • Promote the development of character, community, and curiosity in all dealings with students, including enforcing school rules.

  • Pursue opportunities for professional growth on an annual basis.

  • Other duties as assigned.

The position’s preferred qualifications:

  • MA/MS or equivalent in a related field

  • Experience teaching Advanced courses

  • Experience teaching courses from 6th through 12th grades

  • Independent school experience

  • Demonstrated and successful history with innovation in the teaching of math, technology integration, curriculum design, and experiential-based learning

  • Experience in teaching English Language Learners (ELL), particularly international students

Salary: $39,000 - $48,000 annually based on skills and experience
