Job Description:
The Colorado Springs School (CSS) is a college preparatory, day and international school serving students from preschool through high school. The individual selected for this role will report directly to the Director of the Children’s School and will fulfill all duties that will include, but are not limited to:
Roles & Responsibilities:
Support classroom teachers by completing tasks as directed
Maintain and support a positive, mission-appropriate climate suitable for ages 3 to 12
Assist PreK students before, during, and after rest time, encouraging self-help skills
Provide direct supervision on the playground to ensure the safety of all students
Adhere to all policies and procedures mandated by the Colorado Department of Human Services, Health Department, and CSS
Apply basic tenets of RULER (social-emotional awareness) and other CSS approved methodologies in the supervision of children. This may require attending some professional development opportunities in the opening week of school and throughout the school year.
Plan age-appropriate and engaging activities for Extended Care participants
Provide daily homework supervision
Accurately track student pick-up and departure from Extended Care, including knowledge of all adults approved for pick-up as required by the state.
Supports monthly billing by the Extended Care Coordinator through daily accounting/tracking of student hours in Extended Care.
Help clean and close Extended Care spaces at the end of the shift
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education or related field from an accredited college or university
2+ years working in an educational/early childhood/extended care setting with students ages 3-12 y.o.
Possesses and willing to maintain Standard Precautions, First Aid, CPR, TB test and Physical, 15 hours of Professional Development and any other requirements dictated by our daycare license
Able to commit to a daily schedule: 12:00 PM to 5:30 PM (Monday - Friday).

SALARY RANGE:
$20.00 per/hr up to 30 hrs per wk.
