Admissions Associate Job Description

Organizes and processes admissions and student records functions for the Office of Student Admissions. Reviews and compiles student admission applications and related documents. Maintains academic records, evaluates transcripts, advises potential students on admission requirements and options, and administers applicable student policies. May visit schools or perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred qualifications:

  • An associate’s degree in a related field and/or prior EMA/NAIS and independent school admissions experience; Bachelor’s preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a learning community.
  • Database and records management and/or maintenance skills, experience with FinalSite, or other Admissions-specific software and CRMs are a plus.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information
  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service

The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the Admissions Associate position:

An admissions associate is able to adjust their actions in relation to others’ actions. They convey information to others effectively and succinctly. The candidate must think on their feet and manage several duties simultaneously. The Admissions Associate must be an efficient time manager who values punctuality. Solving problems and facilitating team effort in uncontrolled circumstances is a must.

The Admissions Associate candidate will:

  • Support the Director of Enrollment Management
  • Manage and oversee the admissions office files.
  • Assist in managing the International Student Program
  • In conjunction with the Director of Enrollment Management, coordinate and prepare materials for and assist in the observation of assessments and other testing.
  • Schedule interviews and conduct small group tours for specific grade levels as needed.
  • Track, respond to, and follow-up with phone, email, and web-based inquiries and answer calls related to admission and development
  • Maintain admission databases; track, compile, and analyze statistics for reporting.
  • Keep confidentiality while remaining emotionally stable and able to handle stress well.
  • Communicate with students and families as needed with a proper understanding of stellar customer service
  • Adhere to the standards described in the Employee Handbook.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Enrollment Management

Salary: $40,000-$45,000
