Celebrate Our Gifts!
We want you to feel good about investing in CSS, to know that your gifts of time, talent and treasure will be well-used and much-appreciated. Private independent schools like CSS do not, nor have they ever, relied on tuition alone to fully fund their programs; we count on the generous support of alumni, parents, grandparents, parents of alumni, friends, enighbors, foundations and businesses to give our teahcers and students the added resources which make the CSS educational experience so unforgettable.
Our fundraising is a "celebration of gifts", really; we raise funds to honor and support the gifts of our dedicated teachers, the gifts of our creative and talented students, the gifts that the school shares with others in the area through community service and outreach. And when you give, we celebrate your gifts as well, and always look to express our thanks in fresh ways.

What we raise funds for
You can direct your support toward various purposes.
- The Annual Fund - underwrites the operating expenses not covered by tuition, approximatley 10% of the operating budget. During the last three years, we have received $550,000 to $600,000 for the Annual Fund. Our goal for the 2010-2011 Annual Fund school year is $575,000. Last year, 64% of parents gave to the Annual Fund. Our goal this year is to exceed the all-time record of 72% parent participation. In 2009-2010, several grades earned $500 for special recidencies when more than 50% of the grade parents gave to the Annual Fund.
- Benefit Auction - The Spring event raises funds for student scholarships and faculty development. Our 2011 event, "Celebrate Our Gifts - Benefit Auction & Party", will be Saturday, May 7, 2011 at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort.
- Endowment - The endowment is our investment account which produces annual income to be used for general or specific operating expenses, depending on donor preferences. Our greatest needs are for endowed scholarships and faculty professional development.
- Planned Giving - Making a planned gift can be part of your estate. This can be done in many ways, including through insurance or donation of assets or securities. Consider your options by browsing our Planned Giving pages.
- Capital Projects - Our primary capital projects slated in 2010-2011 are Trianon window restorations and a Alumni Plaza on the quad.
- Other Special Projects - Gifts toward Kodiak Boosters and ECS scholarships, for example, enhance certain programs, providing funds above and beyond what is budgeted.

More and more donors are opting for monthly giving plans that fit in their budgets and allow them to give more than they might otherwise.
