Welcome to Pre-Algebra. Get ready for a great year of learning algebra concepts and competing in Battle of the Brains!
On this page you will find weekly tables that contain the day of the week, what was done in class, and what your homework is for each night. The first table is the current week, and past weeks follow under that.
Here you will find a list of links to websites that we will be using this year. The list will grow as needed.

Week of April 23 -27
Day In Class Homework
| Mon. | Since the students won't be taking a Ch. 7 test (it will be included in their final) we did a review of Ch. 7 to conclude the chapter. Students worked on mastery of changing fractions to decimals and percents, calculating rate of change, finding simple and compound interest, interpreting circle graphs, and calculating mark-ups and discounts. |

Include 9 sheets of paper, the top cover sheet should have your name , Ch. 7 and Percent on it. You can do the tabs if you would like but you don't have to. |
| Tue. | Students worked on word problems involving fractions, decimals, and percents. | Today a baseball project was introduced. For homework you need to pick your player and find the stats for the 2010 and 2011 seasons. This is due on Friday. |

Week of March 19-23
| Mon. | Students began working on a graphing project. They are designing a "fun center" that is 70ft X 80ft. It must contain at least 6 rooms and then be drawn to scale to fit on a piece of paper. | Do a rough sketch of your drawing in feet. |
| Tue. | Worked on project. | Convert your rough sketch to a scale drawing. Pick your scale, draw your center, and list the actual and model measurements on the same piece of paper (that was given to you in class). Be ready to finish working on it in class tomorrow. |

| Mon. | We used ratios to write proportions, and then we solved the proportions. Students learned to "cross multiply" in order to solve for a given variable. |

| Wed. | Students began working on finding a scale (which is a ratio of a model to an actual) and then using the scale to solve for a missing part. |

| Thurs. | Students did a lab on similar figures. They looked at how a scale factor enlarges or reduces a figure. |

| Mon. | Students learned to look at a table of data and determine whether the information was proportional. They also took the constant ratio or unit rate and wrote equations in the form y = kx. | Mon. | Worked on converting currency. Students used dimensional analysis to convert from US Dollars to Euros, Canadian Dollars, Australian Dollars, Japanese Yen, Indian Rupees, South African Rand, and Argentinean Pesos. |
