Visiting Artist: Roberto Lizano
Monday - Thursday, September 27-30, 2010
Roberto Lizano, creator of Bocaraca, a Costa Rican art movement which uses bold colors and a wide variety of materials, will share his extroverted and investigative style with Upper School students. Together they will create several large pieces of art that will become part of the Peak at the Arts Global Artists Exchange on October 8 and 9, 2010. Lizano will also create a demonstration piece and talk about his art with students in grades 4 and 5 on Thursday morning, September 30, 2010. Student artwork will be on display in the Gallery at Louisa on October 1-4, 2010.
Peak at the Arts Global Artists Exchange Festival
Friday - Saturday, October 8-9, 2010
Upper School students will perform on stage with Roberto Lizano in a choreographed presentation of the artwork that was created while Mr. Lizano worked with our students here on campus. Students will be performing on stage with many other artists, some of which include the Colorado Choral, Kaminari Taiko Drummers, Costa Rican dance troupes and local filmakers. Students are also planning on participating in the Costa Rican Art Exchange next year.
Proceeds from the sale of artwork benefits the CSS Visual & Performing Arts Program.
