Artist in Residence
The Artist in Residence (AiR) program offers students a chance to work with our own faculty artists and artists from the community. Students have the amazing opportunity to select the course of their choice! The Artist in Residence program will take place during Upper School Experience Centered Seminars, February 24 - March 17, 2011. There will be a showcase for this experience on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Louisa Performing Arts Center.
Dramatic Historical Reenactment
Students create their own historical character for a live performance. In so doing, they develop research skills, acting techniques, and appreciation for history in a unique and personal way. By expanding their acting skills, they develop a personal interpretation, which expresses the personality, hardships, motivation and accomplishments of the character.

A Dwelling for the Future – Sculptural Installation
Pretend we have no fossil fuels left. How will homes change? What will they be made of? What will our furniture be made of? Recycled and throw-away objects will become precious. The beautiful and the practical will coexist. In this course students will design a dwelling of the future as an installation, by creating a life sized dwelling as a group project for display in the Louisa Gallery. Recycled objects and supplies from the students’ and faculties’ homes will be utilized, as well as other donated materials including clay, paint, cardboard, fabric and paper. The sky’s the limit as far as the imagination of the participants, both in the use of materials and the ideas for their creations.
