Applying to The Colorado Springs School
To begin the admission process, please follow the steps below:
Step 1: Schedule a Visit
Contact the Admission Office to schedule a visit to our campus for
a personal tour and interview, and to find out more about our unique programs.
Step 2: Submit Application
Complete an application and submit, with the non-refundable $50 application fee:
- PreKindergarten: Early Childhood application (applicants must be 3 years old by September 15th for entry year)
- Grades K-5: Children's School application (applicants must be 5 years old by September 15th for entry year)
- Grades 6-8: Middle School application
- Grades 9-12: Upper School application
- International Student application, Grades 9-12

Step 3: Student Visit and Assessment
Schedule your child(ren) for a visit to shadow a current student. This will provide your student the opportunity to experience The Colorado Springs School, and for our teachers to meet your child. Prior to a student visit, applications must be submited along with the application fee.
Step 4: Recommendations
Distribute the confidential teacher recommendation directly to the student's current school and ask that they be returned directly to The Colorado Springs School within two weeks.
Step 5: Testing
Applicatants entering grades 5-11 must take the Otis Lennon School Ability Test. This is a 40 minute assesment and is typically administered during the student's shadow day. PK and K applicants must go through a developmental assesment. Please allow 30 minutes for this assesment.
Step 6: Transcripts
Applicants must submit school transcripts from current and previous year.
Step 7: Notification
Upon completion of steps 2 through 6, your application will be reviewed by the admission committee. The Admission Office will notify families of its decision. Accepted students will receive an acceptance letter, accompanied by an enrollment contract.
Step 8: Enrollment
Returning the contract with the specified deposit, by the date indicated, will enroll your student.
