The Colorado Springs School is an ideal learning environment for students as they explore areas of passion and develop their gifts. Abundant opportunities with interdisciplinary and contextual experiences, relevant, authentic, and engaging tasks, strong relationships with teachers and peers, small class sizes, and curriculum design all support maximizing learning potential.
However, some students have challenges that impact their learning. The Colorado Springs School supports those students as their learning challenges are identified. In conjunction with families, students, and diagnosticians, classroom teachers, division lead teachers, the Academic Dean and the Learning Support Specialist develop plans and implement accommodations to address individual student needs, within the structure and rigor of our program. Through this partnership, students with learning differences are encouraged and supported in using their areas of passion and strengths to become strong citizens and leaders in this dynamic world.
For applicants, the Learning Specialist is often involved in the admission application review process for students with existing learning challenges to help determine if CSS is a good match for the student. Student success is our primary goal.
Passion is the great slayer of adversity. Focus on strengths and what you enjoy.

To understand the heart and mind of a person, look not at what he has already achieved, but at what he aspires to do.
